Den Association of Forskere på New Zealand ( New Zealand Association of Scientists ) er en profesjonell organisasjon for forskere i New Zealand . Den ble grunnlagt i 1942 som New Zealand Association of Scientific Workers , og ble omdøpt i 1954.

Handlinger

Det skiller seg fra The Royal Society of New Zealand ved å være en uavhengig, ideell organisasjon innlemmet og registrert som veldedighet, snarere enn å bli innlemmet av en lov fra parlamentet. Selv om det ikke er helt ikke-politisk, legger foreningen vekt på aspekter av vitenskap knyttet til politikk og samfunnsansvar.

Foreningen utgir en peer reviewed tidsskrift, den New Zealand Science Review , som er et “forum for utveksling av synspunkter på vitenskap og vitenskap politiske spørsmål. Foreningen deler ut to priser hvert år: Shorland-medaljen siden 1999 og  Marsden-medaljen for tjeneste for vitenskapens sak eller yrke.
